Ohio University-Eastern Campus recently issued the following announcement.
Sarah Davis was recently named assistant professor of nursing instruction at Ohio University Eastern.
Davis, an Ohio University graduate, began her teaching career in 2018. She will draw on her previous four years’ experience as an instructor of the associate degree nursing
program at West Virginia Northern Community College.
“The sense of community and support offered by the Eastern campus for students and employees is what led me to apply for this new opportunity,” stated Davis. “I am looking
forward to utilizing the state of the art high-fidelity simulation labs with students to give them realistic experiences and provide hands-on technique instruction.”
The traditional Bachelor of Science in Nursing program (BSN) offered at OHIO Eastern provides students with on-campus classroom lectures and simulation lab activities as well
as regionalized clinical experiences.
“As an Ohio University graduate, I understand and am empathetic to the struggles and difficulty of nursing school,” stated Davis. “I have continued my education from becoming a
STNA in 2000 to a master’s prepared nurse in 2020, but with commitment and dedication, it is possible.”
Coworkers describe Davis teaching style as “interactive and engaging.” She encourages students to participate in their learning experiences and supports them throughout their
academic journey.
“Get involved and seek out opportunities in class, during labs and clinicals,” Davis advises students.
Sarah brings over 17 years of professional registered nursing experience to the OHIO Eastern nursing program,” Associate Director of Nursing Matthew Fox said. “She has
experience in acute care, outpatient, and community nursing areas which are all critical pieces threaded throughout the nursing curriculum. She will be teaching in the classroom,
laboratory, and clinical settings.”
Students enrolled in the Ohio University Eastern nursing program prepare for a variety of future opportunities, with the added benefit of affordable tuition, whether they are pursuing
graduate school or going straight into a career.
The Bachelor of Science in Nursing program provides an opportunity for individuals who have a calling to serve and, care for others, those determined to make a difference by
earning a degree right in their backyard. Applications are still available for fall semester 2022.
