Workshop Objectives: The purpose of this workshop is to understand the differences between boundary violations and boundary crossings in a dual relationship in the rural community. The rural practitioner will be presented with best practice standards to follow when making ethical decisions concerning dual relationships. During this session, the presenter will clarify how a "dual relationship" is defined. There will also be a focus on understanding unique characteristics of rural practice or service, as well as on how the professional Codes of Ethics and licensure boards address dual relationships, and what takes priority in making ethical decisions. Participants will examine standards of best practice when making ethical decisions concerning dual relationships
