LCCC Volleyball Open Gyms (Dec. 5-May 2023)

The Lorain County Community College women’s volleyball team is holding free open gyms for all LCCC students who may be interested in playing women’s volleyball for the Commodores in 2023.

The open gyms are on Monday nights from 7:30-9 p.m. in the Ewing Activities Center Fieldhouse from December 5, 2022-May 2023.

The LCCC volleyball team is coming off a 2022 season which saw them win 14 games and finish third in the Ohio Community College Athletic Conference.  After the season, they won awards in the OCCAC for Player of the Year (Chelsey Farris), Coach of the Year (Ted Whitsel), and Libero of the year (Izabel Gallardo-Santo Domingo).  As a team, they finished second in the conference in kills/set (11.73), assists/set (10.72), digs/set (18.65), and points/set (15.7).

Ted Whitsel has been the head coach of the Commodores since 2014.  In that time, Whitsel has guided the Commodores to the NJCAA DIII National Championships three times with one runner-up finish (2014) and two fifth place finishes (2015, 2018).
