The Black Heritage Gala is led by students from Ohio State Newark and COTC and sponsored by Multicultural Affairs and the Black Student Association. The event includes dinner, student speakers, food, music, singing, poetry and more.
Keynote speaker: Akil Houston, PhD, chief diversity officer and assistant dean for diversity, equity and inclusion at Ohio StateBeyond Wakanda: Pan Africanism ForeverWith Marvel’s Black Panther (2018) and Wakanda Forever: Black Panther (2022) as a backdrop, this talk explores the relevance of Pan-Africanism in the 21st century.
