The Ohio House of Representatives has passed House Bill 380, legislation that will name twenty-nine roads and bridges throughout the state. State Representative Don Jones (R-Freeport) announced the bill's passage.

Included in this legislation is House Bill 299, also sponsored by Jones, which designates a portion of State Route 7 in Washington County as the Specialist Five Frederick Wayne Taylor Memorial Highway. Frederick Wayne "Butch" Taylor, a native of Marietta, Ohio, was killed in action on May 15, 1968, in Vietnam at the age of 23.

“Young people today can learn a lot from the sacrifice of Butch Taylor. When your country calls upon you, there is nothing more heroic than answering the call and making the ultimate sacrifice,” said Jones.

SP5 Taylor is memorialized on panel 61E, line 3 of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial.

The legislation now moves to the Ohio Senate for consideration.
