FOIA Request to Holmes County Regarding Public Records from January to October 2024 on October 7, 2024.
In our continuous effort to provide comprehensive and accurate news coverage on local governmental affairs, we at EC Ohio News have sent a request for public records under the Ohio Open Records Law, §149.43 et seq., to Holmes County.
The request specifically seeks access to the county's Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) logs from January 1, 2024, through October 7, 2024. The fields requested include the requester's name and organization, content of the request, date of the request and its completion, as well as the status of the FOIA.
As a media organization committed to transparency and accountability in public institutions, we believe access to these records is crucial in fulfilling our professional responsibilities. We have also requested a fee waiver for this information as it directly contributes to our role in disseminating important news and updates to the public.
We await a response from Holmes County and will continue our work in ensuring that local government affairs are transparent and accountable.
