Cost of college went up for all students at Zane State College

In-state tuition and fees rose 11 percent for 2018-19 at Zane State College, according to recent data from the U.S. Department of Education.

Ohio residents paid $5,156 to attend the two-year public institution this year – $510 more than the $4,646 charged for 2017-18.

Non-resident students would have paid 94.3 percent more than residents this year, or $10,016. Non-resident tuition and fees grew 8.8 percent from $9,206 in 2017-18.

100 percent of the school's undergraduate population are Ohio residents.

Data shows 79 percent of full-time undergraduates who started school in 2015-16 received student financial aid in some form. In all, 144 students received grants or scholarships totaling $841,374 and 81 students took out student loans totaling more than $260,665.

Including all undergraduates (2,275), 750 students used grants or scholarships totaling $3.7 million, and 491 students took out $1.9 million in federal student loans.
