Zane State College issued the following announcement on Jan. 1.
While we all experienced our fair share of tough spots during 2020, we wanted to take a moment to shine some light on the good things that happened at Zane State College as we say farewell to a year unlike any other.
Our Technology Solutions Center and Distance Learning Teams were extra busy this year:
- Facilitated online transition for all students, faculty, and staff to meet educational needs through the use of mobile technology, Zoom Meetings, Citrix Virtual Desktops, and MyApps platform.
- Facilitated 4,493 Zoom meetings since March 23rd equaling 888,920 meeting minutes or 14,815 hours, or 617 days’ worth of meeting contact.
AEP donated $500K of equipment for hands-on learning for students in the NEW Electrical Engineering Technology Bachelor’s Degree!
The Foundation Office raised:
- over $100,000 in new endowed scholarship funds.
- over $7,000 in Emergency Grant Funds as a response to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Way to go College Credit Plus (CCP) students: 92% of CCP students were successful in their online college courses in Fall 2020!
In July, the College implemented a Facilities Department to manage all campus facilities operations resulting in a net savings of $250K to the College.
Staff Senate participated in its first community toy drive that helped over 800 children!
Thanks to the Business Office, payroll for all full-time, adjunct, and student employees was processed without delay during the stay-at-home order and throughout the pandemic.
