Jefferson County Board of Elections recently issued the following announcement.
Petitions are available for the following offices:
STATE REPRESENTATIVE (96TH DISTRICT)
FULL TERM COMMENCING 1-1-2023 (1 TO ELECT)
COUNTY COMMISSIONER
FULL TERM COMMENCING 1-1-2023 (1 TO ELECT)
COUNTY AUDITOR
FULL TERM COMMENCING 3-13-2023 (1 TO ELECT)
PETITION FILING
The deadline for filing Declaration of Candidacy Petitions is February 2, 2022, by 4 p.m.
The deadline for filing Declaration of Intent to be a Write-In Candidate is February 22, 2022, by 4 p.m.
The deadline for filing Nominating Petitions for Independent Candidates is May 2, 2022, by 4 p.m.
VOTER REGISTRATION
The deadline for voter registration is April 4, 2022, at 9 p.m.
The Board Office will be open from 9 a.m. until 9 p.m. for these deadlines.
ABSENTEE VOTING
Absentee voting will begin for all Military and Overseas Civilians no earlier than March 18, 2022.
Absentee voting for all other voters will begin no earlier than April 5, 2022.
Applications for absentee ballots to be mailed must be received by the Board of Elections no later than Saturday, April 30, 2022, at noon.
All in-country absentee ballots must be received by 7:30 p.m. on Election Day to be counted Election Night or postmarked by May 2, 2022, to be counted for the Official Results.
