Zane State College Foundation Launches #GivingTuesday Celebration Campaign

The Zane State College Foundation is joining the worldwide #GivingTuesday movement through a mix of volunteer opportunities, acts of generosity, and the return of its widely loved literacy event collaboration (returning from 2019). Starting with an official kick-off on October 27, 2022, the campaign includes the launch of radio commercials featuring locally known Zane State College Foundation Board leaders who want to motivate others to participate in this important initiative. Giving takes many forms during #GivingTuesday, and the Foundation is looking for donations of time, talent, and treasure. Here is an outline of the ways you can be involved in the initiative:

  • On November 4, 2022, the annual Road Trip to ZSC takes place – which is a highlight of the year for the recruiting team. Alumni tour guides and volunteers are needed for this event, which hosts over 300 high school students. If you have a few hours to give on November 4, contact Brenda Elswick at beslwick@zanestate.edu with your availability by October 26!
  • In addition, the College is actively seeking volunteers to participate in a Reading is Fun Initiative (to take place in March 2023). In 2019, the Zane State College Foundation, with community support, was able to provide children’s books to 1,615 students in 3 counties, at 22 elementary schools, and in 77 kindergarten classrooms. This neighborhood literacy event lets us share the joy of reading with students in our local Kindergarten classrooms. Starting in November 2022, the College will begin planning to bring this event back to our community. Click here to sign up for this volunteer opportunity.
  • Every act of generosity counts, and the College Foundation is here to help support students so they can achieve their academic goals. Scholarships, student emergency funding, and learning and educational resources play a significant role in helping students stay on track to graduation. Through the #GivingTuesday movement, monetary donations will help students persevere and remain focused on their future careers, especially those who are overcoming challenges. Please consider giving to the College Foundation’s #GivingTuesday movement here. Please help us reach our goal of raising $35,000 for our students during this campaign!
“The Foundation is actively participating in the worldwide #GivingTuesday movement so that we can help support our community and students in ways that are unique and profound. Most people associate giving with monetary donations; however, we wanted to take things one step further and provide ways to connect with ZSC alums, stakeholders, and friends of the College. Zane State has had the privilege of serving our great community for more than 50 years, and we want to take this opportunity to engage with supporters who understand the importance of our cause,” said Zane State College President Chad Brown. Please visit this website for a list of events and ways to give.
