2023 CPD Blood Drives

The Centerville Police Department will partner with the Community Blood Center to hold a series of blood drives in 2023.

BLOOD DRIVE SCHEDULE:

  • January 18 - 3:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
  • April 27 - 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. (John Kalaman Blood Drive)
  • June 28 - 3:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
  • August 23 - 3:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
  • October 18 - 3:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
  • December 27 - 3:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
All blood drives are held at the Centerville Police Department at 155 W. Spring Valley Road.

Community Blood Center is the primary provider of life-saving blood and blood components to 25 hospital partners in Ohio and Indiana. Community Blood Center also provides additional units of blood to hospitals across the country facing an urgent need. The center responds to calls for blood from U.S. military or government agencies coordinating relief efforts around the world.

Blood donation facts:

  • Blood is needed every two seconds.
  • About one in seven people entering a hospital needs blood.
  • Blood is always needed for treatment of accident victims, cancer patients, hemophiliacs and surgery patients.
  • Blood cannot be manufactured.
  • Only 37 percent of our country's population is eligible to give blood, and less than 10 percent of those who can donate actually do donate annually.
