ORDINANCE 2023-06

AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING AUTHORIZATION TO THE DIRECTOR OF PUBLIC

SERVICE TO PURCHASE A UTILITY BED TRUCK FOR THE SEWER

DEPARTMENT UNDER THE COOPERATIVE PURCHASING PROGRAM,

AUTHORIZING AN EXPENDITURE IN EXCESS OF $50,000.00 AND DECLARING

AN EMERGENCY

WHEREAS, the Council for the City of St. Clairsville authorized the Director of Public Services to purchase a utility bed truck for the Sewer Department under the Cooperative Purchasing Program with the Ohio Department of Administrative Services: and

WHEREAS, the City desires to purchase a utility bed truck for said department.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ST. CLAIRSVILLE, OHIO:

Section 1:       That the Director of Finance is authorized to take whatever actions and execute whatever documents are necessary to purchase the utility bed truck under the Ohio Cooperative Purchasing Program.

Section 2:       This Ordinance is declared to be an emergency measure necessary for the immediate preservation of the public peace, health, welfare and safety for the City of St. Clairsville and its residents as the City is in need of said vehicle to continue and promote the effective and efficient operations of the City of St. Clairsville.

Section 3:  That this Ordinance shall take effect and be in full force from and after the earliest period allowed by the Charter of the City of St. Clairsville, Ohio.

PASSED at a meeting of the Council of the City of St. Clairsville on this 17th day of, January 2023, by the affirmative vote of 7 members of Council.
