Cost of college went up for all students at Belmont College

In-state tuition and fees rose 21.7 percent for 2018-19 at Belmont College, according to recent data from the U.S. Department of Education.

Ohio residents paid $4,310 to attend the two-year public institution this year – $769 more than the $3,541 charged for 2017-18.

Non-residents paid 62.3 percent more than residents this year, or $6,994. Their price tag grew 16.2 percent from $6,020 in 2017-18.

About 90 percent of the school's undergraduate population are Ohio residents. And about 10 percent are residents of other states.

Data shows 92 percent of full-time undergraduates who started school in 2015-16 received student financial aid in some form. In all, 131 students received grants or scholarships totaling $454,420 and 37 students took out student loans totaling more than $97,361.

Including all undergraduates (982), 627 students used grants or scholarships totaling $2.2 million, and 348 students took out $1.2 million in federal student loans.
